ONE OF WORLD’S LARGEST ENGINE MANUFACTURERS CHOOSES SCIEMETRIC SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS QUALITY ISSUES
Following a recall, one of the world’s largest engine manufacturers is implementing their first large-scale deployment of Sciemetric technology to improve quality and avoid defects.
The Japanese manufacturer first employed the Sciemetric Manufacturing Intelligence Team to conduct trials and determine the best method to address the quality issue which involved the timing of the engines. This is crucial to optimize fuel economy and when improperly done can also result in unacceptable vibration and emissions.
Sciemetric instrumentation will automate the verification of all of the engine valves and provide real-time pass/fail information. While improving quality, the solution will also decrease cycle time, increasing throughput. The instrumentation will feed the verification data for each engine to Sciemetric’s QualityWorX software. QualityWorX will enable in-depth analysis of the data to improve limit setting on the test station and to monitor tool alignment before it creates quality issues.
