Advanced testing techniques decrease cycle time and improve productivity
Sciemetric®, a global leader in manufacturing defect detection and product quality management systems is pleased to announce the release of an advanced leak test solution for large engine manufacturers.
The time it takes to conduct a leak test on the oil and coolant cavity of large diesel engines is a real challenge for manufacturers. The process often results in either a production bottleneck or a requirement for multiple test stations to accommodate throughput. Working closely with one of our customers, Sciemetric was able to reduce the leak test cycle time from sixty-seven seconds per engine to forty seconds. The improvement was the result of innovations in fill and pressure control technology.
The speed of the system is not at the expense of accurate results. Because the 3310 Leak Test System uses Sciemetric’s advanced waveform capture and analysis functionality, it is more flexible, comprehensive and accurate than other test systems. The algorithms used have been designed specifically for leak testing and deliver industry-leading measurement accuracy and Gage R&R (repeatability and reproducibility). Other leak test systems do not employ these advanced Signature Analysis algorithms, and often result in either missed defects or false rejects.
