JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Writer is responsible for applying technical and communication skills to complete various writing assignments, relating to new or established products.  Responsibilities include managing and driving the documentation process, analyzing user requirements and developing or updating documentation to support company products.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess complex user requirements and recommend format and structure to meet user needs
  • Review, analyze and interpret technical data
  • Determine illustration requirements and layout of tables
  • Produce on-line and hard copy content including product training manuals, user guides, marketing material, application notes, technical papers, and bulletins and other collateral
  • Verify that product documentation is current
  • Research, propose and implement improvements to existing documentation as required
  • Work closely with our Research & Development, Validation, Marketing and Customer Support groups for document updates, approvals and releases
  • Maintain Corporate Library

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma or university degree
  • 5-8 years experience as a technical writer
  • Solid technical background (technician, technologist or engineering education preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficient creating technical drawings (AutoCad, Visio or similar)
