JOB SUMMARY
- Develop specifications for, design, prototype, and test new hardware products
- Provide feasibility analysis for new projects
- Modify and improve existing products
- Produce technical documentation
- Provide other departments with engineering consultation
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure Sciemetric produces the highest quality and innovative technology
- Maintain awareness of current technology trends, and current state of the art
- Develop specifications, forecast product cost, project cost and time line
- Perform system-level engineering, architecture and design
- Complete detailed design including schematics and printed circuit boards with analog and digital design as well as 3D CAD design
- Complete Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing instructions
- Work with manufacturing to support prototype build and test
- Develop verification test procedures and test prototype
- Generate test reports and solve problems related to design
- Perform detailed root cause failure analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
- Provide customer support when required
- Develop highly automated production tests
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Sc. Eng
- Technologist with considerable (8-10 years) experience
- >5 years experience in design and follow-through with a working system
- System-level design
- Software implementation
