Leak Testing Shouldn't Be a Bottleneck on Your Line
Sciemetric technology can be used in any test where seal integrity is a quality issue and the ability to detect leaks quickly and reliably is critical.
Long cycle times often make leak testing a weak link in a production line’s throughput. Sciemetric’s solutions were developed to address this, enabling faster cycle times coupled with the most accurate and reliable defect detection available.
No leak test system offers Sciemetric’s unique combination of thoughtfully designed hardware and process signature software, made to optimize leak testing. The signature analysis technology at the heart of the solution measures multiple features of the process so that more than a few data points are used to determine pass/fail.
| Infusion device manufacturers have decreased lead test cycle time by 10% using Sciemetric's Process Signature Verification technology. |
Sciemetric offers a modular leak system that can go up to 24 channels with sigPOD Leak for small volumes and higher channel count, higher volume leak testing is addressed with the 3300 Series.
Types of Leak Testing
From small components to large cavities, Sciemetric systems have tested them all. Our leak test equipment has been used on parts ranging in volume from less than 3 cc to greater than 10,000 cc.
There are different types of leak testing:
- Pressure decay monitors the pressure over time. A drop in pressure indicates a leak. Used for most parts with leak rates above 0.1 SCCM.
- Differential decay uses the same theory as pressure decay but uses a differential transducer to monitor a smaller pressure range to detect smaller leaks down to 0.005 SCCM.
- Mass flow uses a mass flow sensor to measure air into a part to detect the volume of air leaking out of a part. Mass flow is less sensitive to temperature changes and is used for larger volumes.
